ASCS community joined hands to help Palestinian families via donation drive and a fundraising event for Gaza. In the month of October, donation boxes were placed across the school grounds, collecting food, clothing, and other essential supplies. Due to the outpouring of donations, ASCS extended the donation drive, recognising the ongoing need and the warmth it brought, particularly to the Palestinian families within the ASCS community.

Whilst the donation drive is the preparations for the fundraising event for Gaza. The event was in collaboration with Red Crescent and held on November 10th 2023. Tickets were sold at AED 35 for individuals and AED 100 for families of four. Because the event stood as a celebration of Palestinian heritage and culture, it drew over 700 individuals who united to show their support.
ASCS parents and students prepared engaging paid and free activity stands while local small businesses sold their products on site. All profits from paid stalls and half of the local business stalls where donated for charity.
The collective effort culminated in a remarkable AED 35,000 funds. The success of both the fundraising event for Gaza (Tarahum for Gaza) and the donation drive made a spot in The National News with articles Palestinian pupil tells of pride as Dubai school raises Dh35,000 for Gaza and UAE schools and pupils lead donation drives for Gaza aid.

The ASCS community felt deeply humbled by the profound impact the unity had on the lives of families in Gaza. The success of ASCS’ charity events are a testament to the compassionate ASCS families and the wider community.
In light Bake Sale 2022’s success, ASCS did not miss this year’s breast cancer charity event.
Last year’s achievement of raising 16,000 dhs was admirable, but this year, ASCS soared beyond, collecting an impressive 26,000 dhs. This is a testament to the community’s dedication to aiding breast cancer patients. The proceeds were generously directed to the Red Crescent, amplifying the impact of their collective effort.
The event was planned by the talented students from ASCS Rahaal Programme under the guidance of the Head of Engagement, Ms Victoria. The Primary Drama team splashed creativity to help make the event look vibrant. Student leaders enthusiastically oversaw engaging game booths, while parents and other students contributed by donating delectable pink-hued baked goods. Everyone involved did a wonderful job which collectively made the event even better than last year.

What truly made this day special was witnessing the entire community converge, sharing laughter, indulging in scrumptious treats, and, most importantly, contributing to a noble cause. The outpouring of support and generosity was palpable, reflecting a collective commitment to make a tangible difference.
A heartfelt appreciation extends to the incredible students and parents. Their willingness to contribute, donate, and extend a helping hand to the wider community exemplifies the best of human spirit. The event showed profound demonstration of the students’ social responsibility, empathy, and leadership. Witnessing their caring hearts and sensitivity toward those in need was a proud moment for the entire community.
The next Bake Sale hopefully collects more significant contribution toward this vital cause. ASCS stands united, eager to continue making a meaningful impact and supporting the fight against breast cancer.
This breast cancer charity event is a reminder that when a community comes together with a shared purpose, remarkable things happen.
